Barrister Toby Cadman Talks About Latifa At The United Nations

Detained In Dubai, acting as per the wishes of their clients prior to their disappearance, have instructed Toby Cadman, a leading Human Rights Barrister with Guernica 37 International Justice Chambers in London. Amongst these in instructions are for the case of Sheikha Latifa Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to be raised with the United Nations.

Toby Cadman Panel Discussion

On 14 March 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland a group of international legal specialists participated in a panel discussion on the side-lines of the 37th Session of the UN Human Rights Council.

On The Agenda

The purpose of the panel was to discuss the record of the UAE on Human Rights, for which criticism has steadily increased. Allegations of torture and forced confessions are commonplace and the United Kingdom currently refuses to agree to extradition procedures with the UAE due to these Human Rights concerns.

Toby Discusses The Princess

At the end of the discussion Toby Cadman mentioned the disappearance of Princess Latifa II and Hervé Joubert.

Mr Cadman informed the audience that he had being instructed to file an immediate complaint with the UN Special Procedures Branch, specifically the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Inhumane and Degrading Treatment and the UN Office of the High Commission for Human Rights requesting their urgent and immediate intervention.
